Bouncing balls play the leading role in the wordless performances of the Flemish group Post from Hessdalen. Juggler Stijn Grupping doesn’t just throw those balls in the air, he sends them through space, as they travel increasingly complicated bouncing paths. He makes them bounce off sound objects, and the amplified rhythm the balls make adds up to the drumming of a live musician. It’s wildly clever and truly a spectacle to witness. The audience that came to watch the group earlier at Tweetakt came out of the room all happy and bewildered.

Post’s latest juggling performance from Hessdalen takes place inside a truck, with the audience close to the bouncing balls. Stijn has to throw them into a ball pit, and in the detours he makes the balls take, he also uses the walls of the small space. And a setting of concrete designed by visual artist Lodewijk Heylen. Accompanied by two musicians, it creates a magical trip for anyone aged 10 and up.
