HIER is a visual theatre performance for everyone aged 4 and up. We’ll take you on an adventure in the dunes of Fort Ruigenhoek.
Not just any adventure! One in which the dune itself takes centre stage: seven blades of grass dance from left to right, a plastic bag blows onto the dune, two boulders struggle to roll up the hill to meet the plastic bag, a tree stump strikes up a friendship with a starling flying overhead…
HIER promises to be a playful and gently absurd performance, full of ingenious tricks, visual humour and surprising sets. Using rods and strings, and sometimes dressed up as a boulder or a tree stump, the performers bring nature to life. In this way, they tell a story about how the different ‘inhabitants’ of this dune make a home in this small patch of nature on the edge of Utrecht.
Come and watch, and experience Fort Ruigenhoek from the perspective of a boulder, a bird, a piece of wood and a plastic bag.
This performance is created by students from HKU Theatre, under the guidance of Plankton, the visual theatre company of Sonja van Ojen and Hendrik Kegels.
