Behold the small, great Mariemae. Six years young and already a legend in the making. She is going to win something, show something unbelievable. Something so otherworldly brilliant that even the stars fall silent. She is born with glitter in her veins.
Mariemae can do everything: sing, dance, turn into a cat, climb the highest mountain and – yes indeed – if necessary defeat a bull. The most beautiful friend, the funniest sister, a Number 1 champion!

The applause will be deafening. Mariemae will prove that she is the best, because she simply really is the very, very, very best.

LOSERS is a magical realistic, f*cking fanatical performance about failing, losing and still carrying on. Even when no one is watching anymore. About performance pressure, fear of failure and the question of what success still means when everything seems to be a competition. A performance that, just like Mariemae herself, seeks the boundary between the grand and the clumsy, the heroic and the hopelessly failed. And that invites you to embrace the bumps, because it is the stumbling that makes the story exciting.

Non Creators Company is the theatre group of Max Laros and Rosita Segers, who together followed the Acting Programme at HKU. As young makers, they were supported by Tweetakt for two years, and are currently supported by Dood Paard. With their surprising, playful performances full of humour, tragedy and big emotions, Max and Rosita encourage audiences to look at reality with more imagination.
