The colourful set looks beautiful. Three dancers on a voyage of discovery use the loose set pieces for delightful games of hide‑and‑seek and peekaboo.
Then it turns out that the objects can change shape. They are made of ingeniously folded honeycomb paper that can be stretched out like a harmonica. Imagine all the things you can play with using that! The fanning paper becomes a very long book, and the garlands turn into a wild sea or a circus ring. The performers express themselves in an invented babbling language that adds to their physical expression. In this way, they guide the audience along in everything they experience. The music contributes to the playful and magical atmosphere of this visual performance that does not only fill the very youngest audience with delighted wonder.
In her latest performances for toddlers, Creator and director Judith Faas shows the world through the eyes of toddlers and pre‑school children. For them, everything is ‘wow’. Things that are normal for adults, or mostly experienced as obstacles, are more interesting, more exciting and more beautiful from a child’s perspective. The WAUW factor is always there, as long as we look carefully.
