Brothers Jeroen and Martijn are counting down: in seven months their father, the minister, will retire.
For forty years he devoted his life to the church, to God and the Holy Son. Will he finally have time for his own sons, the brothers wonder. How would the man, who delivered entire sermons on Sundays, but said little at home, see his two sons? In funny scenes, Jeroen and Martijn tell about growing up with a father who is a minister. For example, with a hilariously and awkward rap in which they confess that they are absolutely not ‘nice boys’. And a desperate appeal to their father to watch Who Is the Mole with the family. The brothers do not want to amen together, but to be together.
Jeroen and Martijn van Arkel both studied at the HKU. Jeroen (who also makes theatre as part of the duo Koen en Jeroen) as an actor. Martijn as a writer, he writes poems, plays and film scripts. In their first joint performance, they cleverly play out their differences. With Onze Vader they reached the final of the AmsterdamS Kleinkunstfestival. “A well‑matched comic duo […] that, with their theatrically well‑thought‑out performance, can count on the hardest laugh‑out‑loud moments,” wrote de Volkskrant.
